“We have seen a 400% increase in the number of cryptocurrency transactions since the beginning of 2020, and 10% of all active models on Stripchat are using crypto as their primary payout method.”
Stripchat Experiences Boom in Crypto Payments
Stripchat describes itself as the world’s leading adult webcam streaming website. Moreover, the firm says cryptocurrency is quickly turning into the preferred payment method for many clients and entertainers.
Based on Stripchat stats for 2020, the platform had over 300,000 models and 60 million monthly visitors. Also, it reported a 72% spike in website traffic and hosted over 2 billion sessions for the year. However, the firm got more traffic partly due to the pandemic lockdowns.
Additionally, Stripchat made a $15-million proposal to rename the Saints’ home as the “Stripchat Superdome”, a year ago. The offer even beats the $10-million Bangbros offer for naming privileges of the Miami Heat arena in 2019. However, it’s really unlikely that any city or sports venue will name their field after an adult site. More so, these offers add up to a publicity stunt.
There are also different cam-based live streaming sites that allow Bitcoin and crypto payments. For instance, these websites include LiveJasmin, CamSoda, and Chaturbate.
In addition, different attributes of webcam innovation have widened its growth into many sectors. Also, firms can use webcams for communication and live virtual events. Webcams can also be used to limit the social and financial effects of the outbreak as an in-home worldwide tool.
Furthermore, the worldwide webcams market size is expected to reach $11.6 billion by 2027.
