- Alephium will hold a video-making contest.
- The purpose of the contest is to produce an enticing and educating video about Alephium.
- The contest winner will win a prize pool of 10,000 ALPH.
Alephium is setting a stage for compelling introductory videos for its growing community to show gratitude after the success of its mainnet launch.
Aside from rewarding its community, the video-making contest aims to attract and engage new users who are not necessarily tech-savvy or familiar with Alephium. The community, in fact, has seen multiple tutorials uploaded to YouTube that help users understand the concept of Alephium and how to mine. However, the emerging network plans to set the bar higher to welcome more enticing introductory videos.
According to the official Alephium announcement, contestants will be vying for the 10,000 ALPH prize pool. The main parameter for the submission is a straightforward “video introduction” that should at least cover all the basic points present in the project’s Medium article “Welcome to Alephium.”
Furthermore, the video must not exceed the five-minute limit, can be in any language, and should contain links and information about Alephium’s social media channels, whitepapers, and Github.
The video-making contest allows creators to use 3D animations, cartoons, voiceovers with premium slides, or add any other creative touch as they see fit.
Submissions should be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo with the hashtags #Alephium and #ALPH, as per the contest guidelines. All videos should be uploaded before April 15, 2022, at 11:59 PM (CET). A submission link is also provided where users will send the video links once uploaded. Further information is provided on Alephium’s website, whitepapers, Medium, and Github. Contestants can also reach out to the team via Discord, Telegram, and Reddit.
By design, Alephium boasts several complex technical and mathematical concepts. It uses a novel algorithm called BlockFlow to deliver efficient and practical UTXO sharding with single-step cross-shard transaction capabilities while maintaining speed and security. This first-of-its-kind layer-1 sharded blockchain is intended to address the challenges of scalability, transaction throughput, and consensus efficiency in existing networks.
New users, especially those without a technical background, can find it difficult to understand the functionalities and features offered by Alephium. Hence, the video-making competition is focused on selecting the best videos that capture the fundamental concepts and value proposition of Alephium in a complete, jargon-free, engaging, and comprehensible manner.
Alephium Co-Founder Cheng Wang added to the released guidelines, saying:
The community has already created an impressive amount of content related to Alephium. YouTube is full of videos, but most of them are focused on mining. We need something that can serve as an accessible gateway for new users, we need great introduction videos. Our community members have amazed us with their content creation skills to date, so I’m confident this video creation contest will help us gather creative videos that best describe Alephium.
