- Italian soccer club AS Roma is partnering with blockchain fintech Zytara Labs.
- The agreement will last for three years and involve jersey sponsorship, NFTs and fan engagement.
- A friendly match between Roma and Montecatini will mark the partnership beginning.
The partnership is worth $42 million. As per the terms of the agreement, both entities will work together for match jersey sponsorship, Non-Fungible Token souvenirs, and increased fan/club contact. DigitalBits’ emblem will appear on AS Roma’s men’s and women’s first teams’ home, away, third and goalie jerseys.
The exciting collaboration between these two will launch with a friendly match. AS Roma will play against Montecatini to engage fans and sell the first eleven jerseys from the 2021-22 season. In addition to this, 25 commemorative gold rings will also be up for sale. 25 more will be going to Roma Cares, a charity founded by current Serie A players.

They will donate all revenues from the jerseys sold during the Roma vs Montecatini match to Roma Cares. The public foundation supports local communities and promotes social solidarity.
Of note, AS Roma may not be the first European sporting organization to work with a blockchain firm. However, this partnership certainly is something special. For one, it is the largest commitment between a blockchain company and a mainstream sports club. Its contract duration and sponsorship value surpass any other such collabs. So rest assured, fans are in for some real treats.
