Booking.com has announced that it has partnered with the Crypto.com payment and cryptocurrency platform. This plan aims to give exclusive travel deals to Crypto.com users on the company’s apps. Crypto.com users will now benefit from up to a 25% discount when booking through the booking.com app.
In line with this, it also comes with an additional 8% back on all spending. Those who pay using the Crypto.com Visa Card are also eligible for benefits such as free airport lounge access, no foreign transaction fees, free ATM withdrawals worldwide, and unlimited airport lounge access.
Almost 65% of travelers are excited to travel again in 2021, according to Booking.com. 62% are more conscious of the price when planning their next trip. The platform aims to give all Crypto.com users access to more than 400,000 properties and over 28 million lodging listings.
The Crypto.com CEO and Co-founder, Kris Marszalek, said “Our Crypto.com visa card plan started to become the most widely used card of its kind.” He furthered by saying that their team knows that travel perks are an extremely sought-after benefit. Their user base also grew in 2020, and they are now serving over five million users throughout the world who are excited to travel again.
“We’re happy to announce our partnership with Booking.com, the first of many we’ll be publishing this year,” he added.
The crypto ecosystem grows exponentially. Blockchain applications in the booking industry develop rapidly. Back in 2017, a startup called Travala also created a blockchain-based travel booking platform.
Travala claims to be the first crypto-friendly booking platform. With this, users can book their holiday homes using more than 30 kinds of cryptocurrency.
