Crypto.com Secures 5-Year Long Partnership With AFL

The Australian Football League (AFL) has signed a 5-year partnership with Crypto.com, serving as the Official Cryptocurrency Exchange and Official Cryptocurrency Trading Platform of the AFL and the women’s AFLW league. The Crypto.com partnership will include both the Toyota AFL Premiership Season and NAB AFLW competitions. It has also secured exclusive naming rights for the entire Toyota AFL Premiership Season and Final Series matches: ‘Crypto.com AFL Score Review.’

AFL is ecstatic about the Crypto.com partnership

AFL Chief Executive Gillon McLachlan considers the partnership an exciting new chapter for Australian Football. The AFL considers cryptocurrency and blockchain technology as dynamic and emerging industries. This partnership is a step towards being at the forefront of these industries’ growth in Australia.

AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Kylie Rogers also adds:

Crypto.com has partnered with a number of elite sporting codes across the world and the AFL is proud to be the first Australian sports league and elite women’s competition globally to work alongside an organization that shares our passion to progress the future of elite sport and technology.

While Crypto.com perceives this as a great opportunity

Meanwhile, on Crypto.com’s side, they mention having eyed Australia for a while as a market leader for Crypto. General Manager Asia & Pacific Karl Mohan shares insight on Australia. He notes that their consumer research found that 53% of crypto investors in Australia are female. This statistic attracted them towards the country and partnering with the women’s league AFLW.

Meanwhile, Kris Marszalek– Co-Founder and CEO of Crypto.com– remarks how great of an opportunity the partnership was. Adding that the partnership would expand cryptocurrency in an already strong market.  They are committed to investing in Australia in order to contribute to their rapid growth of 10 million users globally. Australia is a key market leader in cryptocurrency adoption from their perspective.

He adds, “The AFL and AFLW are perfect platforms to associate ourselves with Australian sports and culture.”, this is because it brings Australians together in such a unique and inspiring way.

How significant is this Crypto.com partnership?

This partnership is very significant. It marks the first Australian Sports League that crypto has sponsored in Australia. It also marks the first women’s sports team partnered with crypto worldwide.

Crypto.com has been taking steps to partner with more sporting institutions in recent events. Other known brands have been the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, NHL’s Montreal Canadiens, Paris Saint-Germain Football club, etc.
