Lindsay Lohan Sells ‘Daft Punk NFT’
Lindsay Lohan, a newly-minted crypto fan, is selling a Daft Punk NFT for over $15,000. However, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are tokenized digital items on the Ethereum blockchain . Numerous NFTs are simply pictures online, that someone might just screenshot and save to a phone. Moreover, paying for an NFT is like paying publicly-recorded proof of ownership.
Lohan’s piece is an adapted picture of the music couple in their robot suits called “Daft Punk”. As per the NFT marketplace Rarible records, this “Daft Punk” user “minted” editions transferred into the wallets of big-name collectors, namely Mark Cuban, Tyga, Soulja Boy, and Beeple.
Moreover, Cuban and the others did not pay for these images. Even more, the Daft Punk account gave them away. In order to boost his cred and juice sales, Lohan is reselling her Daft Punk NFT on the secondary market for $15,000 (approx. 8.8 ETH).
In addition to that, Daft Punk broke up on February 22, which suggests that this NFT creator either got very lucky with their timing or somehow knew about the breakup in advance. There’s also the faint but disturbing chance that Lohan herself knew about the band’s breakup.
Furthermore, no one is biting so far. Also, the highest bid on Lohan’s NFT is $88. Similarly, in December, the digital artist Beeple sold a set of digital images for $3.5 million.
