- Amid the competitive crypto market, there are a number of DeFi projects that may hold crypto giveaways.
- Loopring, MetaMask, FinNexus, Opyn, and Matcha are rumored to be holding DeFi airdrop sooner or later.
Those of us who have been in the crypto and DeFi community are aware that many projects hold crypto giveaways. They do this for a number of reasons: to advertise a product, brand, or service, to incentivize loyal users, and to reward event participants.
Amid the competitive crypto market today, there are still a number of DeFi projects that don’t have their own native token. Rumor has it that some of these will have their own DeFi airdrops sooner or later. In anticipation, let us watch out for 5 DeFi projects that may hold crypto giveaways.
Many are expecting Loopring to become one of the top projects to make its own crypto token. It is a decentralized exchange (DEX) platform that uses the Ethereum blockchain.
For those who know what DeFi is about, these platforms have a mechanism that allows users to trade across different exchanges. This is great news especially because they won’t have to bear unnecessary charges when they make trades across different pairs. They also won’t have to create accounts on any exchange they wish to trade on.
So what is Loopring busy with nowadays? According to an announcement, Loopring is already on its second round of liquidity mining. For its first round, the total value locked (TVL) of its Loopring zkRollup exceeded $100 million. Various Loopring wallets also held about $6 million.
This goes to show that many people are supporting Loopring. What will they get out of this aside from the usual incentives? Others are guessing Loopring will create its Loopring coin soon and have an airdrop.
Ether holders love MetaMask; it’s one of the best crypto wallets out there. With a monthly average of 1 million users, MetaMask has shown that it can offer so much more than store crypto assets. In fact, it has its own MetaMask Swap, which allows users to swap from one token to another within the platform.
So what is MetaMask’s next move? Users allege that it will also create its own token which may function as a utility. However, nothing’s set on stone yet. For now, users would do well to keep an eye out for MetaMask.
However, FinNexus is not as popular as MetaMask or Loopring. So what is FinNexus? Apparently, FinNexus is a DeFi options platform that started in 2020 amid the DeFi hype. As announced above, they already developed their own FNX token. For those interested in hard work, they also enabled a mining system.
As for the details of the FNX airdrop, FinNexus said that they will make an announcement about it soon.
Next on our list of 5 projects that may hold DeFi airdrops is Opyn. In fact, someone teased that Opyn has “currently” no token, which Opyn retweeted itself. Kinda obvious there, huh? And if we’re feeling meme-y at the moment, we could even say “I see what you did there” to Opyn.

But what is Opyn? Frankly speaking, Opyn is a DeFi options protocol much like FinNexus. However, Opyn already existed since 2019 — a year earlier than the rise of DeFi platforms.
Given these, Opyn users should be on the lookout for any announcement from the platform. As experience has taught many of us, this should not be too long now.
Of course, our list of DeFi projects that may hold crypto giveaways will not be complete without a food-inspired platform. Enter Matcha, a DEX aggregator that runs on the 0x Protocol. Popular food-themed DeFi protocols SushiSwap and other scams-which-must-not-be-named created their own tokens. So why not Matcha?
However, be careful that you don’t get the wrong Matcha token. At the moment, some random guy created a Matcha token that is not affiliated with the aggregator in any way.
🚨SCAM TOKEN ALERT🚨
A Matcha token has been deployed this morning that is not associated with Matcha in any way.
This is a scam.

Nothing’s finalized at the moment, but it’s better to keep an alert for any official announcement from their side.
