The 4x Champions League winner with Real Madrid and the Wales national team player, Gareth Bale, is dropping his NFT collection via Crypto.com on Sept. 28.
According to Crypto.com, the non-fungible tokens (NFTs) collections are a set of pieces outlining Bale’s achievements and moments. The first collection features rare images of Gareth during his career, with some featuring his signature. The second is a 3D image of Bale’s greatest ever goal in the Champions League Final for Real Madrid against Liverpool in 2018.
Through the NFTs, Bale sees an opportunity to give back to his fans and help artists like DINES, the British digital artist who designed the NFT collections. DINES worked with giant companies such as Nike, EA Sports, Adidas, Levi’s, and more.
In addition, Bale expressed his excitement, saying,
“I’m thrilled to partner with Crypto.com and London-based artist Dines, to release my line of NFTs. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege to play for incredible fanbases around Europe and the world. Now, I look forward to giving something back to my supporters in the form of digital assets that you can’t find anywhere else.”
Also, he added that he sees the blockchain and NFT as a new form to raise awareness for the causes that are most important to him. To address this sentiment, he will share the revenue from the digital arts with Wales-based Velindre Cancer Centre, which provides treatment and care to cancer patients in Wales.
Moreover, Crypto.com Executive Vice President and Global Head of NFT Joe Conyers III is also excited about this collaboration. He said, “Whenever we get to introduce a globally celebrated athlete to the NFT space, and welcome their fans into our community, it’s a historic moment that we really cherish.”
On top of that, he said, working with Gareth and Dines on this collection, which celebrates his career is very special for the crypto exchange.
