On Friday, IOSG, a research-driven venture capital firm, announces the launch of their new Kickstarter Program. This initiative provides capital and mentorship to starting developers in the Web3 ecosystem.
In addition to that, applicants who will pass the Kickstarter screening will receive roughly $10,000 to $100,000 funding support. This is thanks to IOSG’s partners such as DeFi Alliance, NEAR, Synthetic, 1inch Network, and imToken.
Furthermore, the firm also secured alliances with DODO, OWC, Celer Network, ECN, ChainSafe, OpenDeFi, Impossible Finance, DAOSquare, and EEA. Hence, IOSG aims to support outstanding early-stage developers globally.
Of note, IOSG invests across Web3 sectors including base layer protocols (Polkadot, Near, Cosmos), DeFi, Social & NFTs, and DAOs. The company hosted over 20 backathons to date with 500,000 in sponsorships.
The idea of the whole Kickstarter Program came from the IOSG founding partner Jocy Lin. On another note, Jocy thought of this during the Shanghai Polkadot Hackathon. He was part of the judging panel.
Meanwhile, IOSG seeks to help new Web3 developers fulfill their vision and create their products. Along with its strategic partners, IOSG aims to promote a rich multi-chain ecosystem by producing projects on many public chains.
Mentorship for tech development, product/community building, and talent introduction will be provided on this program. Thus, the IOSG team will be hands-on in connecting teams to relevant industry resources.
In fact, shortlisted developers will have the opportunity to participate in the annual Old Friends Reunion event. This will attract leading founders, investors, and blockchain enthusiasts in the future.
