Iran President Says Legalize Crypto and Protect People’s Capital

In a recent meeting of Iran’s Cabinet Economic Coordination Board, the president of Iran underscored the need to put the necessary laws that will legalize cryptocurrency activities.

At the moment, Bitcoin Mining is still banned in the country. However, as mentioned above, the country is now trying to find appropriate legal frameworks for crypto.

According to President Rouhani, Iran must give focus on technical and legal prerequisites concerning digital assets. The president recognizes that there are risks to crypto trading. This is why he indicated that people must have awareness in this area to avoid the downsides.

President Rouhani mentioned,

For legalizing the activity of cryptocurrencies and protecting people’s capital in this area, we must think of a solution. 

He added that this must be done

“as soon as possible” and then “lay down and communicate necessary laws and instructions.”

Rouhani also called various parties to cooperate in completing the establishment of a legal framework for crypto in their country. He called out the capital markets agencies, media, cybersecurity sector, education sector, and public awareness sector to collaborate in this regard.
