The Rob Gronkowski championship series consists of five collectibles, including a one-of-a-kind token, and four NFTs were auctioned from March 11 until March 13.
The one-of-one Career Highlight Refractor Card, which was part of the said auction, is a collage of four illustrations. Meanwhile, the other token collection were digitally signed by Gronkowski.
Aside from getting the NFT, the purchaser will receive an opportunity to meet the star. Also, he or she will receive tickets for the next NFL games and a VIP ticket to Gronkowski’s next beach party.
Bids started at $110 for the one-of-a-kind NFT, which the bidders quickly pushed above six-figures. After that, the bids made $150,000 to more than $400,000 in just only two hours. At that time, bidder 9DD7B7 bought the token for 299 ETH, amounting to $430,000.
Meanwhile, the buyer was busy during the auction purchasing 160 of Gronkowski’s NFTs, including each of the top five tokens by clearing price. This generated a combined price of roughly $650,000.
March has been a big month for NFTs. José Delbo, a former DC comic artist, made $1.85 million by selling the NFT of the comic book Wonder Woman. Overall, 914 particular NFTs were auctioned, including seven pictures or animated GIFs.
