UFC Champion Ben Askren: Bitcoin Price Is Up, USD Goes Down

UFC Champion Ben Askren Bitcoin Price Is Up, USD Goes Down
  • UFC Champion Ben Askren believes that the Bitcoin price is up as a result of USD losing value.
  • On the other hand, Askren calls Ripple’s XRP a scam.

Former UFC champion and American mixed martial artist Ben Askren says that Bitcoin price is up resulting from the USD value going down. Meanwhile, the BTC price is settling above $18,000 in value, at the time of writing.

The former UFC superstar believes that Bitcoin’s value is on the rise because of its virtues. In fact, when the USD decreases in value, the Bitcoin price increases in its value.

The tweet by Askren comes after the BTC price has bounced back from its yearly lows below $4,000 in March. Currently, each BTC is trading above $18,000, nearing its all-time high of almost $20,000 set in December 2017.  Since January 1, the leading cryptocurrency has gained 130%.

Additionally, the BTC bull Ben Askren also took it to tweet that Ripple’s XRP is a scam. The tweet went viral and attracted more than 2,000 likes. The tweet caused a war between XRP fans and haters. Aside from being a Bitcoin fan, Askren also supports Charlie Lee’s Litecoin (LTC).

Remarkably, Askren is a Bitcoin owner who managed to influence another UFC fighter (Eddie Alvarez) to invest in Bitcoin. In particular, Alvarez is now a holder of 1 Bitcoin.

The UFC fighter Alvarez took it to acknowledge that he can’t sit on the sidelines any longer.  As a result, he has also jumped in to buy Bitcoin. However, Alvarez goes on to express that:

I still have no clue what it’s all about but I’m in … you might have to coach me they this. I don’t care about the value now or in the near future, it’s a long term hold, not a cash grab.
