- Visa has partnered with First Boulevard Bank to launch a new crypto-enabled API
- The API will allow users to trade cryptocurrency which will be secured by Anchorage.
- However, First Boulevard Bank will also launch Visa-like crypto Debit cards alongside.
Online payment giant Visa has announced its partnership with First Boulevard Bank. Through this union, Visa will launch a new crypto-enabled API. This will allow users to trade digital assets which will be secured by Anchorage.
First Boulevard Bank is a minority bank that focuses on building black wealth. Thus, through this program, Black Americans will gain access to crypto. This will allow them to build wealth and narrow the financial gap.
First Boulevard Bank President and CEO Donald Hawkins said,
“We are thrilled to partner with the leader in digital payments, Visa, and leverage their crypto APIs to provide another channel for the Black community to access crypto as a new asset class that can help build black wealth.”
Visa expects to launch the API later this year. Of note, this will be the first crypto-focused API for Visa. Also. Visa clients will be able to access and integrate blockchain-based features and other fintech services into their products.
First Boulevard will also offer a Visa debit card soon. This card will provide features like accessing wages via direct deposit and a cashback for the Buying Black program.
Furthermore, Visa aims to connect First Boulevard Bank to services from Anchorage,thus enabling customers to trade Bitcoin.
